Is this still working?!

Wow. It's been almost 2 years since I have written on this thing.

With facebook, Myspace, and other blog sites, does anyone still even read xanga?

I am considering if I should delete this thing, or pick up on my old habit...Hmmmm...anyone out there have an opinion?

My Life is best described as "Moving."

Here are some fast updates and pictures for those of you wondering...

I crashed my car recently on FM 16.  If you know it, you're not surprised. I think it's the most dangerous road in all of Texas! Anyway, I'm driving to work and a young girl pulled out in front of me...I hit her T-bone style.  When the car came to a stop, my first thought was, "Oh! My airbags worked! They are so cute and little! Like baby pillows!"  My next thought probably came as a result of watching too many movies. As the car began to fill with smoke, my heart starting racing and I shouted to myself, "Get out! It's gonna blow."  Being full of adrenaline, I turned to my left and kicked the door down James Bond style.  Of course once I stood to my shaky feet, I did the most heroic act of all...I dove back in to save the life of my cell phone! LOL.  Anyway the car is totaled.  In tribute to my first sweet ride, I give you this picture...

Fun with Friends 001

In celebration of the www.globalexpeditions.com summer, I took all of the call center managers out to celebrate. First, I made them dinner. When they were about done, I pulled out this super sweet speech about being a great team and an amazing family. I told them that I loved them, and reminded them that Jesus served those he loved by washing their feet. Now picture this: I had brought over a bowl of water and some towels...as I'm talking about Jesus washing the feet of his friends, I could see this "look" come upon all their faces...they totally thought I was going to wash their feet (which of course is what I wanted them to think).  Then I finally said it, "So...tonight...I...will...NOT be washing your feet...BUT we are going to get pedicures!" Whoo-hoo! Even the guys (Jamin and Todd) were excited and pumped. So off we went for a pedicure...the entire management team. It was hilarious. In honor of our pedicure party, I present to you...the lovely toes of Katie Iverson, Beth Andersen, Jamin Wunderink, Todd Mayfield, and myself.

After we went out for coffee...here are a few more pictures of the gang that night:

Summer has so far been full of exciting new advetures. Fun with friends...speaking at camps...watching the entire 2nd season of Project Runway on DVD...Life is good.

Right now I am on campus at Teen Mania training for a mission trip with almost 30 jr high students. In less than 24 hours I will be heading to Romania with them...I think I'm crazy. LOL!  Anyway, pray for us, as we share God's love through Vacation Bible School, and street ministry. These kids are amazing, and I am falling in love.

P.S. I will be returning August 6th, and hope to post some more updates then!

I got hung up on...

...8 times in a row.

Seriously. Tonight I called encouragement for Global Expeditions, and this student kept hanging up on me! Her sister was signed up for a trip, and her parents weren't home...and for some reason, she thought it was okay to just cut me off with the click of her phone!

In fact, on the 9th call, she didn't pick up, so I started leaving a message on the answering machine. Half way through she picked up the phone...and hung up on my message! The nerve! She was DRIVING ME CRAZY!

I was so fired up.  I waited an hour until I thought the parents would be home.

Miracle: Her mom answered and when I explained the situation she let me know her daughter was going to 'get it.' Go mom! Take out that iron rod and show your girl some 'christian love.'

Time Out: Thank God for Friends

I often think of the people I love most...giving thanks to God for them. Like Paul remembering his friends around the world...churches full of people he knew and loved dearly, I consider them and their impact on my life...and I am SO thankful.

I know many people...and I love to hang out in groups...but please allow me a moment to honor those who have challenged me one-on-one...to become more conformed to the image of God...to become a bolder, more confident woman.

To my sister, best friend, and accountability partner:  Allison Walker.  Congrats on being a new mom. I love you.

To the girls of Morris Hall 4204:  Thank you for those memories that were more than just 'fun times.' Thank you for speaking the truth in love...always.

To Brenda Bertrand  wherever you are:  One conversation under the prayer tree...hundreds of days changed.

To the ladies I 'grew up' with: Bethany Shay, Lisa Green, Amy Ball, Beth Andersen...You know I'm not there yet...but the journey remains half the fun.

And many more...Casey Johnson, Lydia Raub, Teresa Anderson...

Jackie Cruz.  Nuff said. That woman is a beast. I love her.

And to these ladies pictured here, who are a part of my life now:

Austin Melissa Wedding (smiles)

Noel Tringler, Katie Iverson, and Jamie Williams.

Cheers! Bottoms Up to friends! (coffee of course)

Have you heard?

Dave Hasz and I are taking sixty junior students to Romania this summer (July 23-August 6).

It's an exciting time of preparation...even now.

If you have a brother, sister, or family friend that is young enough to come as a missionary or old enough to be a leader, let me know.  We are looking for SOLID young people who are ready for the adventure of a lifetime!

Check out the project HERE.
